I am envious. And astonished, since when I was in Houston, the summer a/c bill was a couple of hundred at the max and that was 20 years ago. I don't know if you have ever tried this, but I had a/c go out in an apartment and it was going to take a few weeks to get parts. I got a box fan and put it in the bedroom window, turned it on after dark, and was really cool all night.
