but I guess they decided they were spending too much with the rewards earned by some people and drastically cut back how much you can earn with fitness activity-- so it is only marginally worth it now.

Still, if you walk/run a lot (and I do) and have a fitbit or other device that can automatically feed to it, AND can sort of time your workouts so that you both earn and are able to use maximal points before they expire (1 week), it is still useful, if you have a kmart nearby. I have covered a lot of my incidentals (toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, kleenex) that way. I used to earn about $5/week. Now, the reward/week is drastically cut back but timed right I can earn/use the same $5 every other week. Still not bad if you are going to be working out anyway. Obviously the regular rewards points from purchases don't expire as quickly and could be combined with it.
