7. if you don't carry a balance you can pay the statement balance in full on the exact due date

as soon as you get the statement, you can go online and schedule the full statement balance for the exact due date.
as long as you aren't carrying a balance across statements, you don't pay any interest, and the money instead is earning interest for you in your bank account or wherever you have your money.

that's a tiny interest rate these days but hey, it's money.

of course with credit cards this is a good idea only if you're very diligent and disciplined about paying the statement balance in full by the due date. get a single payment late and you've blown at least a year's worth of interest savings.
