I've never bought into the fossil fuel theory as it just doesnt sound right that decaying dinosaurs and forests can provide the Earth with the amount of oil we are pumping out of the ground and using it globally at a rate of 100 million barrels per day.
A more plausible theory is the Abiotic Theory, which of course has conveniently been debunked.
