(2,049 posts)37. gardein is awesome, but also have you tried
the "simple truth" brand at Kroger? They have something called the "meatless patty" that is really, really good and very convenient for those times when you want good but are in a hurry. nuke 'em in the 'wave for 2 minutes, they're juicy and good. Simple truth with the green circle. I believe they are a Kroger-only thing. They come in a bag of four for about 4 bucks. The patties are bigger than most veggie patties I've seen, and unlike some, (like some morningstar) these are vegan, containing NO animal cruelty at all. My wife likes ALL of the Gardein offerings, I haven't tried them all yet but I like the ones I have. Press on towards cruelty-free, you'll be so glad you did.

Question first: are you looking for one that's burger-like or just tasty and patty-shaped?

Burger like is probably the best since he's not happy about being put on the diet

I LOVE Butler Soy Curls. They reconstitute like TVP, only they're big and have a nice texture.
