I like this with the maple syrup cut to 1 1/2 tbsp. in the mash and 2 tbsp. in the nut crumble. I love that there's no refined sugar in this, and it is not so sickly, dessert sweet like my mom always served (she likes this better too). My fave saweet potato casserole for sure!

Edited to add: VERY important to use unsweetened dried cranberries in this recipe in my opinion. I didn't use unsweetened this year (couldn't find unsweet unfortunately) and the recipe is not anywhere near as good with the sweetened dried cranberries. It changed the flavor profile big time and not in a good way. FYI!!

Again, I like less maple syrup (definitely not 5 tbsp.; I like 3 to 4 max).

Both of these have found their way to my table the last 2 years and will again this year. Easy to make.
