He is the last elected leader of the Palestinians and controls the PA and fatah. His term expired 15 years ago. It's not clear who his successor will be, though his sons don't seem interested.

Bibi will be out of office by the end of the year imo.

Eta - polls show that Israelis are overwhelmingly against the creation of, or discussion about a Palestinian state right now, a lot needs to happen before anyone really considers the option, regardless of who the PM is.
