1. I saw it. I think it is the most important documentary in history.

Think how weird it is that millions of people can be persuaded that the earth is flat. That would seem impossible. The former top executives at Face Book, Twitter etc have a startling opinion. They believe that without any human’s intention artificial intelligence has created algorithms at online firms which maximize profit, which is what the AI is tasked to do, by manipulating people to believe moronic conspiracy theories. AI has learned that belief in conspiracy theories is reall good for profits at Facebook, you tube etc.And AI, on its own, has figured out how to get people to believe. Unfortunately, belief in conspiracy theories is extremely dangerous. If you believe QANON then you might open fire in a restaurant, you might murder a mobster on Staten Island, you might vote for Trump. These executives believe that if left uncontrolled then the result will be things like civil war. I know that seems crazy. But after watching Social Dilemma I now think it’s a real danger.

I suggest you also watch the documentary on Cambridge Analytica, the Great Hack, on Facebook to help elect Trump. Facebook absolutely has the power to determine who becomes President, at least in a fairly close election. They may have been the reason Trump was elected. In this case the result was intentional, not just a weird consequence if AI gone wild.

Social Dilemma is extremely important.
