"The Lost King" (2022) on Hulu [View all]

Stephen Frears (The Queen) directed this true story about a British woman (Sally Hawkins of The Shape of Water) who feels unappreciated in her life and after seeing a performance of Shakespeare's Richard III embarks on a crusade against centuries of well-established "Tudor propaganda" to find the missing remains of the underappreciated monarch and restore him to his proper place in history. Along the way, she enlists the aid of an archeologist (Mark Addy, The Full Monty), her doubting estranged husband (Steve Coogan, Philomena), a Richard III fan club, and the spirit of the dead king himself (Harry Lloyd, Brave New World).

I really enjoyed this movie. It's like Bank of Dave, a quiet, well-paced story, full of truth and amusement, about ordinary people accomplishing the extraordinary against well-entrenched interests.
