6. A suggestion about updates for family and friends ...

"I've had to contact friends and relatives each evening when I got home to update them on her progress. That took a couple of hours of my home time."

I set up a page on caringbridge site where I could enter journal updates, it not only took less time for me, but my husband found comfort reading the messages (and some jokes) left by others. I was not sure how he would feel about this, but he said that it was very helpful and he looked forward to reading the messages. Naturally there were some people I kept in touch with by phone and shared more of my concerns, but it kept the bulk of people in the loop.

So sorry you and your wife are going through this and I'll be keeping you both in my thoughts.
