had something similar done in1989. They found cancer in a portion of her lung and in some lymph nodes, so she had chemo too. She lived another 21 years. In my area, hospitals usually have cancer support teams to help the patients navigate their care and mental health services would be included. Sorry to hear about your cancer and your experience.
