along with my mom and great grandmother. With no insurance, I have not been tested.

I started gaining weight when I turned 30 with no change in diet, exercise or activity level. Over 18 years, I put on about 90 pounds. I've tried diets and extensive exercise, only to lose maybe 10 pounds or so.

Over two years ago, my husband was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I fine-tuned our diet to be anti-inflammatory ie: lots of fruits and vegetables, less meat, dairy and grain. We started taking anti-inflammatory supplements, like fish oil and turmeric. We've been walking two miles a day, which is also anti-inflammatory.

My husband is doing great with no flare-ups and the results for me have been amazing. I've lost almost 70 pounds and I feel great. I used to get a mild fever every evening and now I don't.

I don't know if it's all related or not, but perhaps it might be something to try. I hope that others will respond as this is a very interesting topic to me.

I still have about 20 pounds to go and they are coming off slowly, but still coming off : )

I wish you the very best and I understand about the weight problem.

I also try to avoid chemicals the best I can as many are endocrine-disruptors. I cook from scratch, so no processed foods. We use natural products for anything that stays on the skin, like lotions, soaps and deodorant. I also make my own household cleaners. We limit eating canned foods and drinking from plastic beverage containers to help avoid bpa, which is also an endocrine disruptor. I know I cannot avoid all of them, but I try to do what I can.
