But an app won't help those problems. PM me if you would feel better speaking your mind. I'll give you a sympathetic ear. I may learn something. I'm sympathetic to people in whatever situation they find themselves, but many many "dieting" schemes don't address the fundamental issues.

For some, a few, an app might help short-term.

But long term weight loss does not happen quickly if it is going to be kept off. Weight maintenance (at a lowered desired weight) needs to become semi-automatic, but dramatic changes and harsh new year's resolutions are harder and rarely stick. Eating nutritious food needs to become routine even if it means bringing food to avoid getting sucked in by fast food on the job.

Yes, there are many dimensions to the issue of diet. Lifestyle (habit, tradition, surrounding circumstances) is often the most prominent dimension, but far from the only dimension and not always the most prominent.

Envision a healthy weight (defined your own way) and then the diet that would maintain that weight and good health. Start making small slow changes to arrive over time at exactly that diet. Small changes are easier, and making them gradually helps make them stick.
