9. I measure my stride length with a long tape measure and then multiply it by the # of steps.

So my average step count is 2.5 feet. That times 5ooo steps is about 2.7 miles give or take.
Then I got even more lazy and just used time. If I walk 30 min I cover about 1.35 miles..
Again just a rough estimate.. YMMV
