Great, great grandmother's suing her husband. He had moved out and wasn't providing for the household. Apparently, what she did was considered very brave and almost unheard-of for her time, middle eighteenth century. She won the case and got her money, which for the time was unusual.

I also found records for a paternal great ×2 grandfather who, though he was a Baptist preacher, had a serious problem with drink. His escapades are thoroughly documented and almost always involved a young woman who was not his wife.

I got involved in searching for my ancestors in 2013. I served on the board of our local genealogical society for a while, too. I remember how excited everyone was waiting for the census records to be released in 2012. I've been pondering a DNA test. I'd like to know my haplogroup, if nothing else.
