350 for 30 minutes. Shut the oven off, added the rest of the cheese and some french-fried onions, and put the casserole back in the oven for a few minutes.

that's a energy-saving trick I use, too. I learned it back in the days when energy conservation was being emphasized after the oil price increase way back when. It's amazing how much an closed oven can finish cooking.

As you know, I'm sure, you can do it with the stovetop, too.

Anyway, your chicken casserole sounds so, so good. Wow. I would love to have some comfort food soon, like what your chicken casserole is and what Miss Millie's ham steak dinner was.
