Be sure you have a good circuit breaker, or if you have glass fuses that you don't have more than a 15 amp fuse there.

I mean to say that the only danger is an electrical overload and fire incident.

Kind of makes replacing the unit sound like a good deal, no?

If it was me, I'd take out the old unit and bring it with me to make sure I'm getting a new one with the same features and rough dimensions.
