4. I am gathering that's not uncommon down there -- too much damage from the crash.

I keep telling my mother that the best use of her project management skills is to handle the client services aspects for the independents. Let them focus on what they're good at with a regular check, and let her focus on what she's good at. (I have heard so many tales of failing to pay taxes of various sorts, of short payrolls, et cetera...)
