We NEED their testimony but on the other hand if the courts rule Congress can compel testimony despite assertions of privilege by the Executive then what's to stop a future GOP led House or Senate from issuing subpoenas like parking tickets to a Dem president's closest advisers.

It's a great deal like the infamous "nuclear option". I understand why Senator Reid did it, but it opened the door for a horde of ultra RW judges.
