Anybody here use a stool to get into bed? I recently replaced my mattress and [View all]

the new one is about 6 inches higher than the old one. It's a bit too high for me.

Someone gave me an old-timey bedstool with two steps. If it had just the LOWER step, it would just do for me.
I've tried turning it sideways and using just the lower step.

But the thing is, I have to get up in the night and I'm afraid I'll forget about the stool and fall over it--no matter
what size it is.

Any experience, strength and hope on how you got yourself accustomed to your bed stool?
