So Af Am Group - I've got a question. Many threads have been devoted to the #BlackTwitter name for White People.
First, I hope it's okay to write White People. I'm never sure these days.
Second - I wonder if the term really has to do with the number of characters? Like for example - the #BlackTwitter word only has 6 characters. White People (forgive me - math is like - haaaaaaaaaard) has 12 characters when you include the space between those two words. Could it be as simple as that?
Third - does this all really boil down to feelings? Has America including liberals and progressives and ESPECIALLY Americans who are black - learned nothing since 1865? Did we forget the ultimate rule -that we aren't allowed to have feelings about matters? Or if we do -have them disregarded by the dominant culture because after all - we are blapipo?
I'm thinking - that discomfort over words DOES count but ONLY if you are a White American. There - I wrote it.
Our feelings don't count. Here are things I'm 'learning' as black American - this is just a short list 'kay?:
1. Terrified of the police because you are black? Fuck you and your feelings.
2. Knowing that you as a black woman of means is more likely to die of breast cancer than a poor white women due to racial prejudice by doctors causes anxiety? Fuck you and your feelings.
3. Knowing your minor child can be shot by the police and everyone and their mother will question why your 12 year old antagonized a cop with a quick trigger and this causes you discomfort? Fuck you and your feelings?
4. Knowing a rising tide has NEVER lifted all boats in this country got you down? Fuck you and your feelings.
5. Knowing that you are in your third trimester and have MUCH higher risk of death post pregnancy and that it's just a number because AGAIN - you aren't precious and special to the medical community and so you spend much of the time fearing for how your child and family will get through without you? Fuck you and your feelings.
6. Knowing you can't throw a barbecue in a public place, listening to loud music, knock on a door for directions without getting shot, walking armed with skittles and iced tea could get you followed and shot by a pervert - getting in you in a snit? Fuck you and your feelings.
7. Being chastised for listening to music which contains the n-bomb got you up in YOUR FEELINGS? Fuck you and your feelings.
8. Oh - you don't like when people look past you at a store and cater to non-white folks spending less money than you and sales clerks apologizing to them for having to WAIT their fucking turn is irritating? Fuck you and your feelings.
9. Knowing that you worked hard to get where you are at and get ahead and you earned it yet still have people WHINE about quotas is irritating at the least? Fuck you and your feelings.
10. Knowing that in item #9 you are STILL being paid less whether you are a black man or a woman engineer for the same job some 22 year old white guy got because 'daddy had a connection' got you angry? Well just FUCK you and your feelings.
*************************
I hope this clarifies things for you all. ONE word is the subject of much debate and so we are never ever ever eveeeeeeeeeeeer allowed to use that word because it might alienate people who don't really give a FUCK about YOUR feelings on anything.
So you see, it doesn't matter the word. What matters are feelings. Nothing more than THEIR feelings. Your 'feelings' about REAL ISSUES AND CONCERNS don't matter.
AllFeelingsMatter as long as they aren't yours.
That's all. I'm now taking #blacktwitter's word and trashing it at DU because I'm fucking BORED with the conversation.

Posters using "Wypipo" here should make clear whether they mean racists or all white people

Which definition? Do you have a credible reference? Do all posters use your definition?

I've seen both usages. Using terms unclearly does not bridge gaps. I simply suggested clarity.

What exactly hinders your comprehension of the limiting nature of the term as used?
