I'm the opposite of you: I don't buy much non-fiction, and usually borrow it. I'm more likely to buy fiction (used far more often than new), but, even with that, I'll borrow rather than spend if the treeware price is outrageous. See Jim Butcher, The Olympian Affair. At $30 retail, it's $15 at Half-Price Books
