It's amazing. Plus, it includes lots of information about the Weather Service.

I had the good luck to see him on his book tour, and he was in our city on the actual anniversary of the storm.

Once you've read that, go get The Children's Blizzard by David Laskin. It also contains a lot of information about the Weather Service. Between the two of them, not only will you learn about two fascinating weather events, but a lot of stuff about weather tracking and prediction.
