It runs on Windows and Mac and only costs about $40. It can do miraculous things not only for formatting, but also organizing and planning your projects. I'm using it for a novel now and I can create a folder for every character, research, images, chapter; I can outline, create index cards on the corkboard, todo lists. It really keeps it together for you. Most helpful feature is being about to view two pages at a time while seeing the hierarchy of files at the same time. It is a masterful tool for writers, especially longer works. It's WAY cheaper and more efficient than Word.
