...he was unhittable. That splitter was different than anything seen before. He struck guys out on balls that hit home plate!
Another Sutter memory (not as good for him) was Sandberg hitting homers against him in consecutive at-bats.
As hard as he was to hit, getting two squared up in two at-bats is incredible.
Also, his save number would be higher but he pitched on some crummy Cubs teams, so he had fewer opportunities to save games.
