The three fights in nine seconds during the first U.S./Canada game had a lot of the adrenalin-jockeys' tongues wagging with many of the old-school types insisting that the display of violence was a throwback to "real hockey."

Fortunately, the fisticuffs have largely been rooted out of the game. It has changed for the better. And I agree with you, the championship game between Canada/U.S was better than the previous match-up (although the number of injuries were taking their toll).
