My buddy, Kid Ross, honored "The Catch" on Willie's 53 birthday, May 6, 1984, by throwing up this artwork

"Willie Mays: The Catch" as it first appeared on a hillside just south of Petaluma, CA.



Then it traveled to Wyoming, when he moved there.



Then it was sent east:
Thom Ross' Willie Mays installation that was put up at the site of the old Polo Grounds in New York City on the 50-year anniversary of Mays' over-the-shoulder catch in the 1954 World Series. The five figures are now in a private collection in Burlington, Vt
