He's what was once called a free spirit.

He was the post Anthem Stare down guy



He came up under Tony LaRussa, learned revenge from Tony and it still shows.

He'll plunk ya - and even though he's old now and the 104MPH heater disappeared a few years ago he can still go high 90s.

I like Joe. He's a ballplayer, not just an arm, a genuine athlete. In the NL he was a good hitter for a pitcher and was used as a pitch runner several times.

And not to put too fine a point on it - The Astros cheated. They stole signs and warned hitters about curve balls so they only looked at fastballs.

Kershaw threw 56 sliders or curves in his World Series starts and the Astro hitters swung at 0 of those pitches.

ZERO.
