Brock Purdy had a pair of 21-yard scrambles in key moments, finishing with 48 yards on five carries (ESPN), something he never did in the regular season. He just pulled something new (in the NFL) when it was most needed. Reporters had seen him do so in college.

I am reminded of the famous "game 5 in Philly" that Barry Zito won, against expectations. He found the passing gear (pitching, in this case).

What makes games boring is when they are predictable. Rising above and/or outside expectations makes for excitement. Few have that extra gear.
