2. The new 'dark ages', all brought onto and inflicted by church members themselves,

The original 'dark ages' held back mankind for almost 800 years and literally killed 10s of millions of people through ignorance or worse.

Never again shall a religious denomination ever have such sway over mankind again (why the US Constitution has a clear mandate on separation of church and state powers).

And even today, the Cath. church (in France, and other places too) seem to have little desire to police itself or
root out those who do harm to others within its own ranks.

For those who hyperventilate on having Christian churches having more of a roll in governing, remind them of these Cath. church abuses as well as those so called Christian pastors and so forth who have been caught in criminal behavior (just recently, a boy scout leader, a Christian org., of all things abusing young boys). There is no voter input into selecting the so called leaders of these church organizations.
