I was reading about this last night and was hoping to see what came of the town council meeting. It really sounds like they are f'ing with the ST on this.
I do like your idea for them to try and buy the lot next door. They could probably put up a really neat dome building for next to nothing. I recall my mom and dad looking into using a dome while the family toyed with moving to a ranch in Laredo that had belonged to my Great-Aunt. IIRC there is a place near Waco, Tx along IH-35 that sells plans and holds classes on making dome buildings.
If you hear anything more, please let us know. I'm very curious about how this will proceed.
