Microtel & the sort. You can rent weekly, thus avoid getting tied up in a long-term lease & hefty deposits (that you often lose). It will let you skip along until you find the perfect home. The weekly rates normally balance out to what you'd be paying for monthly rent, but offer you more flexibility. Of course, you'd have to put most of your stuff in storage.
