1. I cannot tell you how much I worry about proper holding temps for vaccines & medications...

So much $$ and technology is used to provide backup systems--even in small clinics (and some of the latter I really worry don't monitor as closely as indicated as it is costly). I currently have six vials of Librela (a monoclonal antibody used for severe osteoarthritis in dogs in my small secondary home refrigerator with two digital thermometers and a six-hour backup power bank to maintain 36-44F specifically. Zoetis (manufacturer) ships in a special package that ensures it holds these temps for 36 hours--even in 20F cold Colorado or 100F conditions in the summer. So, when I look at the very high cost of these new drugs and treatment modalities and factor this in, I am a little more understanding. If any here are being provided this treatment at your veterinary clinic and are shocked at the charges, this is a big reason why. On the human side, you may not see similar charges on your primary care physician's billing to your insurer, but they are there.

This new technology for the COVID-19 vaccine will be a blessing, and it has sparked the technology for creating other vaccines. Cold chains can be such a challenge, especially for the so-called "third world." Kudos, guys!
