Around here, some of the tribal people have gone into archaeology, which formerly enjoyed a rotten reputation because it was mostly pot hunters breaking into graves. Now they're using ground penetrating radar to avoid the burials while they dig the rest of the site. It's improved relations to the point that oral historians not only gave a clue to what Chaco was, they told how it was abandoned and why (an old story in most cultures).

At least we've progressed beyond the point of thinking culture, urbanization, and technology were the sole properties of the right kind of European or the east Asians.
