Humans have struggled since the beginning to categorize the world and its mysteries. We try our best but lack the ontology, as John Mack once said. Forays into the unknowable are discouraged by the scientific method therfore it's just better to move on and drop it. But once in a while someone decides to walk back to the house from the compost heap a little slower than usual and gets a glimpse and a taste of the divine.
