1. "Quarantined"

I'm an old boomer, so I remember those notices tacked up on a porch post, the people inside the house having to stay there on house arrest until no one had been sick for a week, groceries delivered in boxes and people standing on the porch steps to talk to someone inside the house. When there was an outbreak of something particularly nasty, those signs would multiply like bacteria until the outbreak was over.

People just took it in stride. It was a fact of life.

Good luck getting that system up again if the bugs really start to fight back.
