3. I once heard of a university history lecturer...

who had strong moral and religious objections to war. Very admirable - but in his case, this extended to talking about wars. As he taught a course in '18th century Europaean history', this made life difficult. The students learned all about the 'Causes for Wars' and the 'Peace Treaties', but nothing about what happened in between.
