2. I've heard about pushback on vaccination programs in sub-Saharan Africa

Anti-vaxers are complaining about thimerosal used as a preservative where other methods (such as refrigeration) aren't available. And they're selling their nonsense by suggesting that these "more dangerous" vaccines are a form of post-colonial oppression intended to damage or impair neurological development.

If this idiotic campaign were to succeed, we could be looking at literally millions of deaths for which the good Dr. Wakefield would be more or less directly responsible.
