where it's normally quite a bit cooler than it is here in North Alabama.

When it's almost cool enough to do some of these is when the humidity is around 95 percent in the morning. Then the temp rises faster than the humidity drops, and the humidity rises in the evening faster than the temp drops. The last thing you want to do is load up the humidity indoors first thing then have to overwork your AC to remove it in order to be somewhat comfortable.
