Satellite imagery showed glaciers shrinking after a heat wave in mid-June. The Sabbione Glacier, which feeds into a hydropower reservoir, lost about 35% of its snow cover from June 10-18. The glacier continued to lose snowpack throughout the summer as heat persisted.
