If you want to meet a bunch of RW, teabagging, douchey fascists, go to a DAR meeting! These women, back in the day, would have personally hanged anyone who said one word against the Crown! In one meeting, a discussion was held about how people who burned the flag were traitors and should be jailed. It was an eye-opener for me, a long-time ACLU supporter, to realize that things had done a 180 over the centuries, turning the 'revolutionaries' into de facto Loyalists.
If I were back in Rev days, I would have supported the Revolution. A couple of centuries on, I can see that, for this country, it may have been more beneficial to stay with England. That doesn't make me a Loyalist -- it's just a pragmatic, random observation that we might have been better off. It's not like we can go back and fix it.
