6. Why didn't we try between 2004 & 2014?

The perception is that we are only opposed to the EC because it worked against us this time. We would have had a lot better argument had we been pressing for abolition as a matter of principle when it didn't affect the winner. That may however have fallen on deaf ears because it would have been tough convincing some that it was an issue.
