From the nydailynews link:

“We need help from the city, and we need help now,” said protestor Linda Bowman, 63, a daycare provider from Far Rockaway whose house on Beach 13th St. is still damp from the storm and growing mold. “People are frustrated. They feel forgotten.”

About 11,000 Far Rockaway residents still lack heat, hot water and electricity, according to the advocacy group Queens Congregations United for Action.

A growing contagion of mold is creating a public health issue for local residents, protest leaders said.

“The mold is making people sick,” said organizer Pete Nagy, campaign director for New York Communities for Change. “It’s creating a dangerous situation for the families here.”

Occupy Sandy NJ has put in an urgent request for 400 Tyvek suits to protect survivors and volunteers working around toxic mold. http://www.wishpot.com/item.aspx?uid=490889&wid=42006307
