6. The reason this law did not exist is because it used to be legal for peons

to traverse the White House Grounds. I don't recall when the wrought iron fence was put up but it might have been post-Civil War era.

Until 2001, it was legal for peons to visit the Capitol and office buildings on an unguided tour because, and I quote, "It's the People's House" and Jefferson et al. expressly fought for that provision in the new Capitol.

Now they dug out the (i.e. destroyed a historic monument and 400-year-old trees) Capitol Grounds to create a slave entrance (visitors are not allowed to enter the Capitol itself at all, except for organized tour groups.)

Only registered lobbyists (not joking) are allowed to use the above-ground Master's entrance,

The West Front of the Capitol (a major sightseeing vantage point with Trevi-style steps and fountains) has been indefinitely fenced off,

And the ceremonial Eastern and Western Doors have been permanently shut.
