1. Once a post drops off the bottom of the last page, it goes into the 'archive'

and no longer kicks. The time limit depends on the speed of the forum - it looks like page 30 in GD only goes back to last Tuesday, for example.

The poster that you responded to will see your reply however, it will kick in the poster's 'My Posts'...
