1. People who are/were married to someone with health insur

are far luckier than those who never married. My friends and relatives have no idea how much more I have had to pay for my own insurance (which I couldn't get before the ACA) unless I was employed but I was too sick to be employed full time. I paid more out of pocket for insurance than my $1,200 monthly income. My insurance was $1,500 per month!!!!!!!

I did the math and I paid $150,000 out of pocket for insurance and health care over the course of my life with and without insurance. None of my family and friends who have/had spouses with insurance really understood this horrible, unfair practice. Being single or married should not be a factor in receiving health care in the US. The same goes with having to be employed to get health insurance. The whole system is fucked up!!!!! When anyone complains to me about not getting insurance due to spousal issues I get pissed off really fast.
