Every now and then someone will post a compilation of self defense reports just to offset the criminal and "accident" compilations.

The pro-gun folks tend to be more interested in the details of the events so that lessons can be learned:
What signals (if any) were given that something bad was going to happen?
What tactics worked and did not work?
How long did it take for the cops to arrive?

The numbers you seek don't exist. The ones capable of collecting the data are the cops, but they don't do it because it does not help them with their job. And that would only cover the ones reported to the cops. Estimates on self-defense gun uses (shot and not shot) per year run around 1.4 million give or take a few 100K depending on which side does the estimating.
