Glad that our little secret is out of the bag. I just saw a tumbleweed fly by, so the group could definitely use more traffic.

I'm Type 1/Type 2/Type 1.5 - no definitive diagnosis other than "you're insulin dependent AND insulin resistant." The diagnosis came just this February at age 40 and it still makes me grumpy some days.

I now eat a low-carb high-fat diet and I very rarely have a reading outside my 85-105 range (my last A1C was 5.0). I take Lantus every day and some Humalog with meals or for the rare correction dose. My doctor thinks I'm insane, but eating LCHF has not only improved my blood sugar readings, but my cholesterol has gone from "holy shit you're about to have a fucking heart attack" to "good lord, you've got the cholesterol of a 10 year old boy." My doctor's exact words when he saw my improved cholesterol numbers were "holy shit!" It took a new draw of blood and a retest to make sure the lab hadn't made some mistake.
