these criminal gangs will not simply cease to exist. Many of them profit greatly from kidnapping people for ransom, and that activity will likely continue, or increase, to make up for the shortfall of money from weed smuggling.

But it would be great for the people and potentially the govermnent, which could generate some serious revenue from legalization.
