Presidential candidate Martin O’Malley in Austin to discuss immigration. [View all]

Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley is campaigning in Austin today.

He is expected to bring up the issue of immigration.

Former Maryland Governor O’Malley is meeting today with the Ramirez family at their East Austin Home. He says the family would have benefited from President Obama’s Deferred Action for Parents of Americans known as DAPA.

A recent appeals court ruling blocked the president’s plan to give certain immigrants exemption from deportation.

Governor O’Malley is also speaking to UT students at 5:30 p.m. tonight at the Hogg Memorial Auditorium on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

On Saturday, O’Malley and the rest of the Democratic candidates will meet again for a debate in Iowa.
